EWC develops island plant

Australian-based Energy World Corporation is building an onshore liquid natural gas plant, similar to its recently completed Indonesian plant in Sengkang, South Sulawesi, on Parama Island in Papua New Guinea. The plant will have an initial production capacity of 2 million tonnes a year, but this may be expanded to 5 million tonnes a year, depending on demand.

Chevron to up Sumatra flow

Chevron Pacific Indonesia, the Indonesian arm of US oil giant Chevron, is investing in the Sumatra oil field. It will increase the number of oil wells to be drilled there this year to 500, up from 350 last year.
