According to FDI monitor fDi Markets, inward FDI experienced year-on-year growth in Kazakhstan between January 2012 and December 2015. During this period, a total of 142 investment projects were recorded by 124 companies, which created 24,459 jobs.

In 2012, 22 companies invested in the country and the 23 FDI projects they recorded created 4282 jobs. During 2013, a total of 34 investing companies recorded 38 projects and created 8075 jobs, representing increases of 55%, 65% and 89%, respectively, compared with 2012.

In 2014, a total of 7583 jobs were created in 39 investment projects by 36 investing companies. These figures represent increases of 77.1%, 69.6% and 63.6%, respectively, compared with 2012 figures. While the number of jobs created increased compared with 2012 figures, 2014 recorded a 6% decrease in jobs created, compared with 2013. During 2015, a total of 42 projects were recorded by 36 investing companies, creating 4519 jobs. While the number of projects increased by 8% compared with 2014, the number of companies investing remained the same at 36 and the number of jobs created decreased by 40%.

Comparing 2015 figures to 2012, shows that the number of companies investing in Kazakhstan increased by 64%, the number of projects recorded rose by 83% and the number of jobs created increased by 6%.
