The Viennese infrastructure is excellent, with cheap telecom charges, widespread broadband access and excellent transport links.

The city also ranked top in a wide number of quality of life categories. There are several excellent and varied international schools and hospitals. Although Vienna is probably most famous for its musical heritage, the sheer number and variety of festivals, theatres and fine restaurants impressed fDi’s judges. The city also has an attractive natural heritage: half of it is green space, and nearby hills and mountains, lakes and beaches are within easy reach. Crime statistics are impressively low.
