IBM opens centre in Portugal:

IBM is to establish a consultancy, auditing and business management services centre in Braga, northern Portugal, and create about 1000 jobs. IBM plans to use the site to reinforce its position in business transformation outsourcing in the Portuguese market. The contract for the project has been signed between IBM and Portugal’s investment agency, API.

 

VMC Game Labs to Establish Montreal Centre:

 

Washington-based VMC Game Labs is to set up a development and testing centre in Montreal, Canada. The company, which specialises in the video game and entertainment sector, will create some 165 jobs.

BT has announced it will invest €10m in a new marketing centre in Poland, which it may double in size, depending on circumstances. Spending on the centre will mainly be devoted to infrastructure development.

ITCampus to open UK

HeadQuarters:

German call centre technology firm itCampus is to open its new international headquarters in north Tyneside, UK. This will market the company’s new telecoms software package providing IT solutions for the UK call centre industry. itCampus anticipates that the facility will generate turnover of £5m and employ up to 25 people within three years.

Cisco Expands in Middle East:

 

California-based Cisco Systems has announced the launch of an office in Amman, Jordan, and said that it will invest $265m to expand its operations in Saudi Arabia, including a new technology incubator and the hiring of additional employees.

Cisco CEO John Chambers said the company would boost the number of employees in Saudi Arabia from 70 to 600.

It will also establish networking training centres and sponsor a Saudi technology innovation institute and incubation space for local start-up companies.
