fDi European Cities & Regions of the Future 2012/13

London has maintained its title as fDiMagazine’s European City of the Future 2012/13, having claimed the top spot in the previ­ous two rankings. The UK capital is followed by Paris in second place and Vienna in third. The Greater Stockholm region of Sweden is the best small region of the future, and has overtaken the UK’s South-east to becomefDiMagazine’s European Region of the Future 2012/13. The UK’s South-east region is ranked second overall and is the best large region of the future.

fDi Asia-Pacific Cities of the Future 2011/12

Singapore retains its position at the top of fDi Magazine’s Asia-Pacific Cities of the Future ranking.  It has held on to first place in the 2011/12 ranking, ahead of Shanghai and Seoul. Singapore scored well in all categories, and was placed in the top five for economic potential, business friendliness and human resources, while claiming the top position for infrastructure and FDI strategy

fDi African Countries of the Future 2011/12

Morocco has climbed from third position in the 2009/2010 ranking to become the top African Country of the Future 2011/12. South Africa was placed second, followed closely by Mauritius in third. Morocco’s success in claiming the top position in the 2011/12 ranking is partly down to its success in attracting FDI projects.

fDi Caribbean & Central American Countries of the Future 2011/12

Costa Rica has climbed from second position to be ranked as the most attractive country in the Caribbean & Central America for foreign direct investment. Costa Rica’s dominance in this year’s ranking is no surprise given its successful record in attracting FDI into the country. The Dominican Republic claimed second position, followed by Trinidad and Tobago in third.

fDi Middle East Free Zones of the Future 2011/12

Dubai Airport Free Zone, located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has climbed from 10th place in the ranking two years ago to be awarded the top position as fDi’s Middle East Free Zone of the Future 2011/12. RAKIA Industrial Park (UAE) took second place followed closely by the Jebel Ali Free Zone (UAE).

fDi American Cities of the Future 2011/12

New York City ranks top in the first ever ‘American Cities of the Future’ ranking compiled by fDi Magazine, followed by Chicago and Houston.  The new ranking focuses on a mixture of data and expert opinion to rank cities which have the best prospects for inward investment, economic development and business expansion.
