The investment is a joint venture with Grupo Cabrera, which will put up $197m of the investment to produce between 70 million and 90 million gallons of ethanol a year.

ADM has said that it will continue exploring other opportunities in Brazil, as corn-based ethanol production in the US has deteriorated during recent months due to high corn costs and weak ethanol prices.
