Energia project in Mexico

Spain’s Acciona Energia has started construction of the Eurus 250.5 megawatt wind park in Oaxaca, Mexico. To date, 25 turbines providing 37 megawatts of capacity have been installed. The $550m project is being developed jointly between Cemex and Acciona Energia and will have 167 wind turbines with 1.5 megawatts of capacity each. The plant will cover 25% of the energy requirements of Cemex in Mexico. The facility is expected to be operational by the last quarter of 2009.
