Both of the countries have experienced a marked increase in project numbers from 2007 to 2008. Canada attracted two projects from Indian companies in 2007 against seven in 2008. In the US, where the economy is showing early signs of recovery, India launched 15 projects in 2007 against 25 in 2008.

“FDI in the US represents 5.3 million jobs. The economic recovery is a happy coincidence, but not the reason why the other countries want to invest here. The US is synonymous with the best return on investments and companies plan to invest for the next 25 years,” said Aaron Brickman, director of the Invest in America initiative.
