Banpu boosts Indonesian coal

Thailand-based Banpu plans to develop its Indonesian coal mining and support operations during 2009. The total investment is expected to cost about $126m. Part of this will be spent on expanding the company’s coal-fired plant, which is located in Bontang. Headquartered in Bangkok, Banpu has a number of subsidiaries and associated companies in Thailand, China and Singapore.
