According to greenfield investment monitor fDi Markets, foreign investment in customer contact centres in the Philippines in 2008 stood at 19 new projects, compared with just eight in India.

Indian outsourcing giant Wipro Technologies plans to open a second call centre in the country this year to serve new North American clients. Canada’s Telus International recently opened its fourth call centre, creating 2500 jobs, and US firm Associated Creditors Exchange has announced the creation of more than 500 jobs at its Philippines centre by the end of the year.
