A joint venture agreement signed last year between Costa and Russian restaurant group Rosinter will result in the firms investing $10m in the venture and opening 200 Costa outlets in Russia in the next five years.
Competition comes from rival Starbucks, which opened its first Russian cafe north-west of Moscow last year, and McDonald’s, which has opened a chain of McCafes.
