A report from fDi Markets showed that in the period Poland and Russia both received more FDI than France and Germany. Poland had 40 projects while Russia had 38. France and Germany had 37 and 36 respectively.
However the top recipient of FDI in the region remained a developed market, with the UK winning 65 projects.

When it came to source FDI in the region, the less developed European countries were not among the top five investors.
The US was the most active investor with 94 projects, followed by Germany (78) and the UK (37).
