Latvia was the only one of the three Baltic countries to see a rise in FDI project numbers in 2011. It recorded 18 projects in the year, compared to 14 in 2010. Regus, the world's largest provider of workplace solutions, was one of the investors into Latvia in 2011. It opened its first business centre in the Latvian capital, Riga, to meet customer demand.

Lithuania recorded 36 FDI projects in 2011. Although this marked a decrease from 2010, when the country recorded 30 projects, Lithuania was still the most popular Baltic destination for FDI in the year. Historically, Lithuania has been more popular than both Latvia and Estonia, recording the most projects each year since 2003. However, both Estonia and Latvia have narrowed the gap in project numbers in recent years.

In 2011, Latvia recorded half the number of projects as Lithuania, compared to 2010 when it recorded just one-third the number of projects. Similarly, Estonia recorded 25 projects in 2011, just 11 fewer than Lithuania, compared to 2010, when it recorded 17 fewer projects.

Altogether, the three countries recorded 79 projects in 2011, just two less than in 2010.
