Development work on the Algerian project will begin before the end of 2009, with first gas scheduled for 2013. The development plan will involve the drilling of about 40 wells to tap eight structures over an area of 2,500 square kilometres. The project is expected to produce around 1.6 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year.
