Abdulaziz Al Muslet, the company’s regional representative, says that IIG is interested in investing in Syria because of it is a “geostrategic incubator” for regional investment. IIG will be setting up facilities to manufacture beauty products, beverages and industrial oils.

Since 2004 the export of US-manufactured goods to Syria (except for food and medicine) has been banned because of Syria’s alleged support of terrorism. However, because of an improvement in the relations between the two countries in recent months, Washington has announced that it will seek sanction waivers on exporting technology products.
