Top Americas FDI destination cities by capex Q12015

In the first quarter of 2015, New York City secured $1.77bn in FDI capital expenditure, making it the most popular destination city in the Americas in the quarter. It was closely followed by the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez, which recorded $1.61bn in capital inflows in the first three months of the year.

These two cities showed a clear lead over their nearest rivals, with the Peruvian city of Cusco ranking third with $650m in FDI. Cusco was closely followed by the US city of Freeport, which saw $600m-worth of deals in the first three months of the year. The Canadian city of Montreal ranked fifth in the region, with $110m invested in the city in the first quarter of the year.
