Tunisia improved the most with regards to the ease of paying taxes in 2010, according to a World Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers report.

The study compared tax systems from countries of the world and found Tunisia had made the most progress with its system, largely due to a new electronic system for tax payment.

Ranked closely behind the north African country were Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Canada and Macedonia, FYR. China finished seventh in the ranking.

The Maldives was ranked as the easiest country in which to pay taxes, most likely because there are so few taxes that need to be paid in the country, while Jamaica was ranked most difficult.
