Unctad has launched a database containing a series of country profiles uniquely focused on states’ maritime activities, offering statistics and information on fleets, sea-based trade and maritime trends. The profiles are each comprised of six blocks: basic data, market shares, liner shipping connectivity, merchandise trade, trade in transport services, and the nationally flagged fleet, which includes composition regarding types of ships.

Basic data covers each country’s trade, economy and maritime trade activity. Information held on market share covers each country’s share in maritime sectors as well as their population, GDP, coastline and merchandise trade.
