Iranian ceramic tile company EMG is building a new plant in Uzbekistan. The investment will total $24m, with the plant expected to be fully operational by October 2011. Once completed, it will have a 4.5 million-square-metre production capacity. Uzbekistan’s domestic tile demand is reportedly 5 million square metres per year, of which 60% is imported.
