Data shows that by September 2010 there were 52 projects in the region, with many southern states seeing better numbers than 2009.
Florida had received the most projects with a total of five, equalling 2009’s total. South Carolina also put up impressive numbers in the sector. The state only received 3 projects in the years between 2003 and 2008, but recorded 3 in 2009 and three to date in 2010.

In recent projects, AJ Walter Aviation is opening a new office in Miami Florida for an undisclosed sum, while jetliner company Airbus Americas is adding 90 engineers to its facility in Mobile, Alabama.
