Figures show a decrease from 2,746 in 2009 to the current total of 2,406 projects.

The most notable changes concern Mexico and Colombia. Mexico dropped from second to fourth position with a decrease of 121 projects compared to 2009 from 320 to 199.

Colombia saw an increase of 24 new projects for the year, moving it up from ninth place to joint fifth with Argentina, which saw a decrease in 29 investments.

The USA maintained its position at the top, with a decrease of only 42 new projects, dropping from 1,256 to 1,214.

Despite a decrease from 47 projects in 2009 to 29 in 2010, Panama has not dropped out of the table and is still 10th. Overall all the countries saw a decrease in investments with the exceptions of Canada and Colombia.
