The site, locatd in Campo Largo, will eventually be expanded to 50,000 square meters and is expected to be operational in 2011.

It is being expanded to meet what the firm sees as growing demand in Latin America. More specifically it will produce backhoe loaders and small wheel loaders.

In total the expansion will result in an investment of $180m by Caterpillar into the country.
