Quarter one data on fDi Markets has revealed that FDI into Romania jumped by 153.85% between February and March 2011, from 13 to 33 projects, but the 63 projects recorded in Q1 2011 is considerably less than the 77 projects recorded by FDI in Q1 2010.

However, capital expenditure in Q1 2010 represented just $1610.98bn and 19,418 jobs were created, while in Q1 2011 this figure increased fourfold to $4918.68bn and 20,663 jobs were created.

These figures suggest that companies are making fewer but larger investments into the country this year.
