Greenfield investment monitor fDi Markets shows that between January 2012 and December 2014, Russia’s share of central and eastern European (CEE) FDI declined. A total of 274 FDI projects, excluding retail, were recorded in Russia in 2012, accounting for 19.28% of the CEE market. In 2013, this share declined, with Russia's 239 projects accounting for 17.45% of the market. And, in 2014, this figure fell again to 12.93%. Despite the drop, Russia remains the leading country for FDI inflows in CEE.

This downward trend looks set to continue in 2015, with data from January to November indicating that the country holds a smaller market share than in 2014. Data reveals that in the first 11 months of 2015, Russia accounts for 12.32% of the market.
