According to data from fDi Markets, investment from Singapore into neighbouring Indonesia continued to fall in 2018, with the number of projects decreasing from 13 in 2017 to eight in 2018, a percentage decrease of 38.46%. This follows a trend that has continued since 2015, where the number of projects has fallen by 187.5% from 23 in 2015 to eight in 2018. In order to combat this fall in investment between the two nations, the government of Indonesia has established an office in Singapore in order to attract increased investment and mitigate any red tape causing the lack of trade.
