New York is the most popular US state location for UK-based companies looking to set up business in the country.

According to fDiMarkets, between the period of January 2003 and March 2011, New York witnessed a total of 191 UK projects, just edging ahead of California, which saw a total of 171.

New York and California may be at different ends of the geographic spectrum, but they are by far and away the most popular locations in the US for UK-based companies.

In a recent development, UK Trade and Investment is looking to establish an office in Georgia to promote trade and FDI opportunities between the UK and the state. fDiMarkets shows that Georgia has seen 42 projects from UK companies from 2003 and still has quite some way to go before it reaches the levels of New York and California.
