Last year was a record for aerospace projects in the United States as it attracted the largest proportion of global projects.

The majority of these projects were intrastate, although China and the  UK also had a significant contribution. The US contributed 15% of global  aerospace projects in 2010, excluding intrastate. In general, the  global aerospace sector took a drop, with the number of projects  decreasing from 220 in 2008 to 174 in 2010.

Malaysia and Vietnam saw the fewest number of aerospace projects in the same year, according to fDiMarkets.

Canada-based Bombardier was one of the largest companies to expand its aerospace presence in the US in 2010, as well as the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, which also invested in an expansion of its US facility.
