Professor Richard Bellingham

Richard Bellingham is director for the Institute for Future Cities at University of Strathclyde. The Institute aims to improve the quality of human life across the world through understanding cities in new ways, and creating innovative approaches for living and working in cities across the world.

Richard has more than 15 years’ experience developing policy, and working with national and international organisations to deliver government objectives. He is a fellow of the Energy Institute, former head of energy policy for the Scottish government, and a senior research fellow specialising in energy policy and sustainable cities. Richard works with cities to create urban sustainability strategies — writing the Sustainable Glasgow strategy — and coordinating the European ‘Step Up’ programme with Glasgow, Gothenburg, Riga and Ghent to create ambitious sustainable city strategies and innovative integrated urban low-carbon energy projects.

André Campbell

André spent a decade building brands across the automotive, technology, creative and public sectors. A former Wolff Olins brand strategist, André has fostered urban innovation and strategic marketing partnerships for the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team, HyperloopTT and Microsoft, among others. He explored the topic of future cities in New York City, Bogotá and Mexico City while studying for his MBA at Imperial College Business School. In 2019, André was profiled in The Drum’s Future 50, recognising the world’s most exciting up-and-coming brand marketers. In the same year, André attended the China–UK Symposium on Smart Cities in China, as a Royal Academy of Engineering UK delegate.

Jacopo Dettoni  

Jacopo Dettoni is the editor of fDi Intelligence, where he leads the title’s multimedia editorial coverage and strategic development. Prior to joining fDi, he lived and reported in Europe, Asia and Latin America, covering some of the world’s fastest-growing economies for international media. He is a regular speaker and moderator at events discussing the perks and perils of global trade and investment. He holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from the Catholic University of Milan, Italy, where he focused on trade policies and economic welfare.

Kim Fahem

Kim Fahem is the vice president for Business Development Asia at foreign investment consultancy firm Wavteq. She has been working in the field of trade and foreign direct investment for more than 15 years, advising governments, investment promotion and economic development agencies on promoting their location globally. Kim has extensive experience working in the global markets including Asia, Europe and the Middle East. 

Seth O’Farrell

Seth O’Farrell is global investment reporter for fDi Intelligence, a specialist publication at the Financial Times, covering foreign direct investment and geopolitics. He previously worked at MandateWire, another FT Specialist publication, reporting on institutional investors in Italy, the UK and France. He speaks French, Mandarin and Italian, and holds a degree in modern languages from the University of Oxford.

Firdaous Oussidhoum

Firdaous Oussidhoum is the special adviser of the United Cities and Local Governments’ (UCLG) secretary general. The UCLG is the world institution for local and regional governments advocating for shared values and principles, for the local democracy as representative of the citizens and communities. She is also a member of the UNESCO Chair for Intermediate Cities and World Urbanization.

Architect, urban planner and philosopher, Firdaous developed her expertise, within a human-focused approach, in the sustainable and resilient development strategies through 20 years of experience as a practitioner, consultant and policymaker at local, national and international levels. She has developed in parallel an expertise in international relations and development, and international public affairs, with a particular eye on global resilience. 

Scott Shepard

Formally trained as an urban planner, designer and geographer, Scott Shepard, chief marketing officer of Iomob, is a digital mobility expert, strategist, adviser and thought leader, who understands and is passionate about the intersection of cities, movement and tech. Architecting and implementing digital mobility solutions, Scott works closely with leaders in business, government, academia and non-government organisations to actively shape the emergence of the mobility and startup ecosystems. Scott is a sought-after global keynote speaker and has written extensively about topics including digital mobility, active transportation, urban planning & policy, mobility as a service, mobility hubs, micromobility, connected fleets and kerbside management.
