Botswana stands out as one of Africa’s richest economies by gross domestic product per capita thanks to its vast diamond resources and a population of just over 2.3 million people spread over a territory as big as France. Yet income distribution is uneven and the country now wants to capitalise on years of economic and political stability to diversify and spread wealth further.
