According to fDi Markets data, Bahrain hosted 55 projects in 2008 and 56 in 2009. Although this is only a small year-on-year increase, both figures are more than 125% higher than the total for 2007.

Meanwhile, in Angola, FDI more than doubled between 2006 and 2008. The number of projects recorded grew from 15 to 33. This figure could be beaten in 2010 as 13 projects were recorded in the first half of the year.

Both countries saw their FDI project levels fall in 2007, but each managed to rebound impressively in what was arguably the worst year of the financial crisis.
