Cityscape Dubai officially gained its status as the world’s largest business-to-business real estate event in 2006 with 32,442 participants from 107 countries.
This year the event has grown a staggering 50% in terms of floorspace, with 45,000 investors and senior real estate professionals expected to be in attendance. We hope that attendees will be blown away by the sheer magnitude of development projects and investment opportunities on display in both emerging and mature markets.
Cityscape’s success has been encouraged by a very buoyant Gulf real estate market backed by strong liquidity and an ability to execute projects quickly – but there are other underlying reasons for the success of the Cityscape brand. One of the key strengths of the event is the fact we provide access to the wealthiest and most liquid group of investors in the world.
In addition, our extensive marketing campaign and database, coupled with a world-class project and event management team and the support of the leading knowledge skills company in the world, the Institute for International Research (IIR), collectively provide a winning formula.
The strategic geographical location of Dubai ensures the event has strong participation from key emerging markets, principally the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent, Asia, China, and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Encouragingly this has drawn much larger crowds from Europe and US looking to capitalise on these high growth markets.
In 2007 Cityscape became a biannual event within the Middle East. Such is the demand and speed of the international real estate community that key industry players indicated once a year was simply insufficient. The capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, was a natural choice for a second location because of the fantastic projects announced there over the last year. Cityscape Abu Dhabi attracted over 15,000 participants from more than 50 countries in its first year.
Cityscape Asia and Cityscape China, which took place in April and May respectively, have already become the leading platforms in their regions. Cityscape India, set to take place in Mumbai in November, looks set to be the biggest launch yet with 6000 real estate professionals and investors expected to attend. Cityscape South America is planned for December and will ensure that Cityscape leaves no stone unturned in terms of emerging market opportunities.
Earlier this year Cityscape expanded its activities from organising platforms where information exchange can occur to providing intelligence on emerging markets that assist investors and senior real estate professionals in making strategic decisions. We achieved this through two mediums – The Cityscape Magazine and the Cityscape Market Intelligence Service (CMIS). The latter is an online subscription-based service that provides key intelligence, data, reports, statistics, trend analysis and other vital content on real estate in emerging markets.
