ALDI EXPANSION IN IRELAND

German retail chain Aldi plans to open 35 hypermarkets and a distribution centre in Ireland within the next two years. The plans would mean investment of $443m and 650 new jobs. Retail outlets have been planned for Drogheda, Wexford, Dublin and Mallow. In Portlaoise, as part of Aldi’s expansion, the company has received approval to develop seven shops, including a discount food store.
