With global figures calculated for the full year of 2010, data from fDi Marketsshows a total of 4837bn in FDI for the whole of the year. This equates to nearly $70bn per month.

The most active month for investment in 2010 was June, which saw more than $108bn-worth of projects take place. The quietest month was April with only $45bn, a figure that had been preceded by declining FDI levels in each respective month.

August was also a slow month, with only $50bn, but this was mostly due to the summer holidays in the northern hemisphere, which markets are frequently slow.
