India captured fully half of SSC projects registered from January 2002 to June 2005 – more than four times its next nearest competitor, Ireland.

India’s appeal does not appear to be waning. In addition to new investments by such companies as Exlservice, GE CIS and Global Response, investors such as HSBC and LogicaCMG have opted to expand existing operations in the subcontinent. But HSBC, one of the most active investors in this space, looks increasingly bullish on Malaysia. The bank has set up a sixth group service centre in the country, shifting some UK operations there.
