Dublin investment firm First Equity Group has received approval to develop a $625.94m indoor ski resort in the UK. The company owns 70% of the consortium behind the SnOasis project in Suffolk, which will include the biggest indoor ski slope in Europe. The 364-acre development will include 350 ski lodges, a four-star hotel, a conference centre, an ice rink and a range of other sporting facilities. Work on the project is expected to start next year, with a target of completion in 2012 to coincide with the Olympic Games in London. The site will offer 3500 bed spaces. The developers expect to create 3500 jobs during the construction phase and 1800 permanent jobs once SnOasis is finished.
