The overwhelming majority of technical support centre investment originates in the US. US investors in this sector show a clear preference for India, which has attracted large investments from Cybernet Software Systems, Dell Computer, Lionbridge and Butler International from January 2002 to June 2005. France’s CapGemini is also big on India; it has opened a third IT facility in Mumbai and a second operations centre in Bangalore. The runner up location in terms of popularity, China, is unlikely to challenge India in the near future. Though it placed second in a number of projects, it did not attract any of the biggest 10 investments reported by OCO.
