Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem also have high levels of mobile phone ownership, with an average of 92.5% of the population possessing a mobile handset. Israeli cities are also ahead in the roll-out of broadband internet connection: 15% of the population. Internet services are spreading across the Middle East and in many cities, such as Kuwait City, more than one in five people have regular access to the internet.

Beirut and Manama also support wired populations with 33% and 31% of their respective populations connected. Mobile phone ownership in Manama is high, at 85%.
