American Cities of the Future 2015/16 Winners

For the third consecutive ranking, New York City has reigned supreme as fDi’s American City of the Future, with San Francisco rising through the ranks to take second place and Houston placing third.

Global Cities of the Future 2014/15: FDI Strategy winners

In the FDI Strategy category for fDi’s inaugural Global Cities of the Future ranking for 2014/15, Dubai was ranked first by a panel of judges, with Hong Kong and Copenhagen placed second and third, respectively. Cathy Mullan reports on what took these cities to the top.

In August 2015, fDi Intelligence will publish its ranking of the economic, financial and business strengths of countries the Middle East and Africa – ‘Middle East and African Countries of the Future 2015/16’. We are searching for those countries with the most promising prospects for inward investment, economic development and business expansion.

Could your country come out on top?

fDi Magazine will publish the top countries in the following categories: Economic Potential, Cost Effectiveness, Connectivity, Human Capital and Lifestyle, Business Friendliness and FDI Strategy.

fDi Benchmark will analyse quantitative data for all categories, with the exception of FDI Strategy. For this qualitative category, we invite those charged with FDI promotion to complete a short online survey detailing the current FDI strategy they offer potential investors.

London has retained its position as fDi’s European City of the Future 2014/15, while Germany’s Nordrhein-Westfalen has sailed to the top to rank first among Europe’s regions.

São Paulo has been declared the winner in fDi’s South American States of the Future 2014/15 ranking with Metropolitana de Santiago and Rio de Janeiro following in second and third places. Cathy McReynolds reports.

Dubai Airport Freezone has once again been awarded the title of the top Middle East Free Zone of the Future in fDi Magazine’s biannual ranking. Jebel Ali Free Zone climbed to second position with Dubai International Financial Centre placed in third.
