fDi Benchmark will be analysing quantitative data for all categories with the exception of FDI Strategy. For this qualitative category fDi invites those charged with FDI promotion to complete a short online survey detailing the current FDI incentives their location can offer potential investors. Participation will enhance your location's performance in the overall ranking.
We invite local, regional and national levels of investment promotion agencies, economic development units and others charged with FDI promotion, to complete the online survey.
American Cities of the Future Awards 2013/14
On Monday 7 October fDi Magazine presented the fDi American Cities of the Future awards. The event, which took place in Philadelphia this year, gathered an audience of over 150 attendees. Mayors, councillors and city representatives took to the stage to collect their awards.
The mayors of Mississauga in Canada and Paterson in the United States were present to accept the awards on behalf of their cities.
fDi American Cities of the Future ranks and recognises cities which have the best prospects for inward investment, economic development and business expansion in the Americas. The results were released on the April / May 2013 issue of fDi Magazine. You can read more about the rankings, including its full results, here – you may need go through a short registration process to access the article for free.
Michal Kaczmarski, who in addition of presenting the awards is also fDi Magazine’s Americas Editor, commented “when assessing the cities we looked at several categories related to FDI, including economic potential, human resources, cost effectiveness, infrastructure and business friendliness. And within these categories we looked at over 100 data points, across over 420 locations. Given the strength of the rankings methodology, the large field of competitor cities and sheer scale of such a benchmarking exercise, those cities marked for recognition deserve to be proud of their efforts. fDi Magazine congratulates them."

fDihanded out awards to Europe's top-ranking locations at a ceremony in Cannes in March, while leaders of the winning cities and regions react to their successes.

The Greater Stockholm region has overtaken the South East UK to become the European Region of the Future.
