The investment includes the construction of two plants, scheduled for operation in 2011, to produce 710,000 tonnes per year of ammonia and 350,000 tonnes per year of ammonium nitrate for domestic consumption, principally by the industrial and mining sectors. The plants, to be located in the city of Pisco in the Ica region in southern Peru, are expected to employ 400 workers.
